A Rose For The Fallen by April Bostic (Twilight fans will like)

A quick review as the original was ate by  livejournal gremlins  and I am too sick to fight with it anymore.

I received a final galley from author April Bostic for her book, A Rose To The Fallen: True Love and Eternity Bound.. It is paranormal erotica/romance. Her official site is: http://www.aprilbostic.com/

Book description:

"Do soul mates really exist? Is there really another person out there who was born just for you? And are they the only one who can answer your heart's call? Bridget Monahan is an elementary school teacher, and she's about to find out that perhaps soul mates do exist. Her heart is on the mend from many failed relationships, she's a skeptic when it comes to finding love, and the last thing she wants is to be set up on another blind date. However, she is introduced to the charming Tristan Hathaway. Bridget's first impression of Tristan is that he reminds her of an angel with a British accent that makes her knees weak. When they begin their passionate romance, Tristan is able to break her defenses that were guarding her heart for so long, and as Bridget allows herself to fall deeper in love with him, she starts to believe that they are soul mates. But she also learns that although his beauty is near perfection, he is not without flaws and there's more to him than she ever imagined. Not to mention, he can seduce her unlike any man she's ever known and take her mind, body, and soul to a place of sheer ecstasy. Bridget unexpectedly becomes the student in this magical love affair and her biggest lesson may be that true love and eternity are bound. "

This book  covers a range of emotions for the love interests. You have the highs and the lows of their love story lovingly detailed with NOTHING skipped. You notice right off something is up with Tristian. At times, he (like Edward) kind of creeps you out with his possessiveness and jealousy bits.  The book makes you think about where does the boundry of love and obsession cross. Also, what makes a soul mate as you see the two lovers become almost addicted to each other in their need.

I would strongly recommend this for the ADULT fans of the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. Notice the ADULT  label? That is because it is erotica and has a lot of scenes meant for mature audiences. So for all those who felt bummed out that Meyer didn't go into more detail of it, you can read the same type of love story here and get the sex too.

The author writes on her website that she was inspired by the movie, The Covenant, which I liked when I saw it on DVD when it was first released. (Always thought it had potential to be more as a TV series to be honest). So fans of that movie might want to pick this up as well if you want to read a version of how that story could've been done with one of the guys. I would also say those who are into the "true love soul mates" romances would probably enjoy this as well (again, like Twilight).

So why do I recommend this for Twilight fans? Because the love story reminds me a lot of it. As I read it, I found myself unconsciously comparing the two as the writing reminded me a bit of Stephanie's. Both are told from the female lead's perspective in first person. That and the romance were the biggest factors.

Woohoo! Thanks Shar! I'm putting this review on my site and quoting you on my MySpace page. That's so interesting that you compare my book to Twilight. You're actually the first person. Thanks again for reading my book and I'm glad you enjoyed it and recommended it. Too bad LJ ate your other review because I would've liked to read it.
Oh, are you posting this review anywhere else? Please let me know so I can decide where to link back. What should I put about you? "Shar - blogger, book reviewer"? If you put this review on another site then I can include the site name.
That works. OR shartyrant. I answer to both. And yes, I will be posting it on shelfari as well as myspace. Also books-a-million and barnesandnoble. I would do amazon, but for some odd reason, I can't log in today. Amazon hates me and I hate it back. Lots.
